Join us every third Thursday of the month to get together and have meaningful discussions with other stroke survivors. Each meeting will feature a guest speaker who will touch upon different topics related to stroke and stroke recovery.
This December, we will be joined by guest speaker Marylee Nunley. The topic of our discussion will be "Let’s Talk About Stroke Camp". Marylee Nunley is the Founder and CEO of Retreat & Refresh Stroke Camp, now a division of United Stroke Alliance. Inspired by her late husband John, a stroke survivor since 2001 and formerly a computer programmer at a Top Fortune 100 company, Marylee created a place where survivors and caregivers could find rest, connection and hope. Since launching the first camp in 2004, she has led the growth of the program to more than 320 weekend retreats across 28 states. With over 35 years of experience managing various aspects of small business, Marylee brings a strong blend of leadership, compassion and operational expertise to her work. In 2005, she was honored as one of the 25 Women in Leadership in Central Illinois.
