CROR Receives $4.5 Million Grant to Evaluate How Different Inpatient Rehabilitation Lengths of Stay Affect Patients with Spinal Cord Injuries
The Center for Rehabilitation Outcomes Ðǿմ«Ã½ÊÓÆµ (CROR) at Shirley Ryan Ðǿմ«Ã½ÊÓÆµ was awarded a $4.2 million, five-year grant to explore how different rehabilitation lengths of stay and intensity of rehabilitation affect outcomes and quality of life for people with spinal cord injury in different countries.

Financial hardship and stress from financial worries, or ¡®financial toxicity,¡¯ among people with early-stage Parkinson¡¯s disease can be as high as that experienced by people with advanced cancer according to a new study published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Pivot to Telehealth During the Pandemic Kept Shirley Ryan Ðǿմ«Ã½ÊÓÆµ Patients Connected to Therapists
By late March 2020, Shirley Ryan Ðǿմ«Ã½ÊÓÆµ had pivoted to a completely new telehealth model that affected the roughly 800 patients who were using the DayRehab Centers at the hospital¡¯s downtown location and suburban sites.

Jennifer Pearlstein: Using Psychology to Help Improve the Lives of People with Disabilities
After finishing her PhD, Pearlstein stayed on at UW for a post-doctoral fellowship with her mentor Dawn Ehde, PhD, who is currently directing a project funded through the Center for Rehabilitation Outcomes Ðǿմ«Ã½ÊÓÆµ (CROR) at Shirley Ryan Ðǿմ«Ã½ÊÓÆµ. Ehde and Pearlstein are looking into whether CBT can help people with chronic pain cope and feel better.
